Sci-fi Movies of 1994: Was Stargate the Best Movie?

    Welcome to 1994! The year when Nancy Kerrigan got hit in the knee, Northridge in California got hit by an earthquake, Michael Jackson married Lisa Marie Presley, and Kurt Cobain committed suicide. The Highest Grossing films were The Lion King and Forrest Gump. While there were many great films that year, Science Fiction films were not as popular.   It's possible that it was because Science Fiction TV shows were so great at the time.       There weren't a lot of movies to choose from this year. I wasn't able to find a way to watch Timecop starring Jean Claude Van Damme. I was able to rewatch Stargate and Star Trek Generations, both movies I saw in the theater when they came out.        Welcome to year of  Jurassic Park!  The science fiction movies are lighter and funnier.  Biotech was replacing robots. PC culture was still being debated, now it's a part of life.  Jurassic Park was the number one movie of the year. It attracted audiences with its great special effects and realistic (as I far as we knew in 1993) looking dinosaurs, wonderful acting, and a great overall, exciting story with a deep message.       What were the other sci-fi movies of 1993?  Fire in the Sky - (Sci-fi Horror Aliens) - This is a movie about alien abduction. I tried to find this movie and couldn't find it. A logger is abducted by aliens and missing for five days. Police suspect his friends murdered him.  Daybreak - (Sci fi Dystopian) In the near future, the United States is fascist and throws people who test positive for a disease in camps.
