Goodreads or Fable

I have used Goodreads for over ten years now but some are suggesting the app Fable. I might end up using both.

I love Goodreads because it connects to my Kindle account and automatically keeps tracks of books I read on Kindle Unlimited. I also have more friends and family on it and it is fun to see what they are reading. As it is older, there are more reviews, lists and yearly challenges available. There are giveaways as well. I haven't used them but I know my mother loves them. The negatives is that it doesn't seem to be very interactive and it has an old interface. 

Fable has more interactive, social media features. I have a feed where I can post reviews and notes that anyone can follow. There are book clubs where you can discuss books by chapter and I noticed some Booktube influencers are migrating towards the app. It is a little more personal and easier to use and follow. The analytics give detailed stats on reading habits and genres. Fable even has a DNF list. (did not finish) 

Since I can easily link my Goodreads to my Fable account, I think I will use Goodreads but post publicly on Fable. Here is my Fable account.

Masters of Everon

  Masters of Everon by Gordon R. Dickson is an ecological themed science fiction book published in 1979. The story follows the human, Jef Robini and his pet maolot, Mikey, an alien telepathic cat-like animal on their journey to the planet Everon. Jef is bringing Mikey back to the maolot home on Everon after doing research on Mikey on Earth. Jef not only wants to bring Mikey home but wants to discover how Jef's brother was killed on Everon a few years before. Jef plans to travel to his brother's grave and to talk to the human colonists to uncover the truth. After reading the depressing Blood Music and Childhood's End, I decided to read something more light hearted. I decided to read City because I thought it would be a cute story about a future where there were no more humans and Dogs were the major sentient creatures. Well, it ended up being more like an obituary to humanity.  Thousands of years in the future, dogs will have inherited the earth with their robot helpers. Dog researchers are debating whether or not humans ever existed. Some use folklore, others research old stories and manuscripts found about when men lived on earth.
